Variable Frequency Drive

A Variable-Frequency Drive, also known as a Motor inverter or a Variable-Speed Drive (VSD), is an electronic device used to control the speed and torque of an electric motor by varying the frequency and voltage of the power supplied to the motor. Without an inverter, the AC motor would operate at full speed as soon as the power supply was turned ON. You would not be able to control the speed, making the applications for the motor limited.

Variable Frequency Drive are commonly used in industrial applications where precise control of motor speed and torque is required, such as in conveyor systems, pumps, fans, and machine tools. They offer several advantages, including energy savings, improved process control, and reduced mechanical stress on the motor and driven equipment.
